Clevelys Health Club Location to be Converted to a Bingo Hall

Developers and construction planners are set to be given the greenlight to convert a planned health club into a bingo hall.

The building and site that are reserved for a Health Club located on Clevelys Promenade is currently empty after Property Alliance Group, a Manchester based company failed to find an operator for the planned health club.

The Company has then decided to apply to the Wyre Council to change the use of the property so that it can be allowed to be used as a bingo establishment.

Developers say that the outer facade of the building will not be affected by the planned changes and firmly believes that there is need for the development.

Local residents opposed the proposed change saying that if the council will allow that to happen, it would look like that they are a "hostage" to the developer's whim. Residents are calling on to the Wyre Council to stand firm on their decision.

One of the bingo centers in Cleveleys, Orion Bingo said that if the council will allow Property Alliance Group to build a bingo hall in the site instead of a health club, they believe that their membership would dropped to almost 50% percent.

The Wyre Council's planning committee will give their final decision at at meeting tomorrow.
